Investing in LA's Future

In 2024, the California Jobs First Los Angeles Collaborative secured $14 million in Catalyst Predevelopment Funding, with a $9M dedicated seed funding opportunity to invest in predevelopment projects that drive innovation, growth, and community impact. 

Following a competitive review process, 26 projects were selected for funding. These projects span 6 industry sectors and all Service Planning Areas (SPAs) of LA County, reflecting the diverse and intersectional priorities of our region.

Mid-Term Brief

The 26 Catalyst projects kicked off in August 2025 with their period of performance formally ending in September 2026. Through their period of performance, Catalyst projects will continue to be equipped with early-stage support to achieve equitable, sustainable, and impactful results over time. 

The breadth of Catalyst project activities advances organizations toward implementation readiness and aligns within one or more of the following overarching thematic focus areas:

Bioscience Projects

LA County boasts over $60 billion in private investment, 3,000+ establishments, and 83,000 jobs in the Life Sciences/Bioscience sector.
